"When the pain in my back became so intense that I could not work outside, ride my bicycle, or even sit comfortably in my favorite recliner, a visit to my family doctor became necessary. At night, I had been reduced to sleeping on the floor, to try to get a little relief from the constant pain, which was the worst I had ever experienced. My family doctor ordered an MRI which showed two herniated discs, stenosis, and disc degeneration. The doctor prescribed pain medication, which barely managed the pain.

I was also scheduled for a series of three spinal injections that I was told should relieve the pain. After the first injection, I rember thinking, "Is this it?" On a scale of 1 to 10, the pain might have decreased from a 10, to a 6 or 7.
